About the KU Energy Council
Established in April of 2007, the KU Energy Council is comprised of key University of Kansas researchers, each working in a specific area of energy. Among others the KU energy council has more than 1000 publications and patents, has secured more than $40 million federal, state, and university funds during the past five years. The council has established several industry partnerships and offers more than 50 courses related to energy in Liberal Arts and Sciences, Engineering, and Law.
The Council's core areas of expertise include transportation energy, biofuels and biomass conversion, traditional and non-traditional recovery of fossil fuels, materials, environmental treatment, conservation and sustainability, education and outreach.
